Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work The Virgin and Child with Saint Catherine of Alexandria and Saint Margaret of Antioch by Goswijn van der Weyden. It changed hands for a price of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 117,384.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Goswijn van der Weyden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven Scenes From The Life And Veneration Of Saint Dymphna in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,347,046.50).

Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Virgin and Child with Saint Catherine of Alexandria and Saint Margaret of Antioch von Goswijn van der Weyden zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 117.384,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Goswijn van der Weyden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seven Scenes From The Life And Veneration Of Saint Dymphna im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.161.250,00 (€ 1.347.046,50).
