In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child by Giuseppe Maria Crespi. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 313,250.00 (€ 398,996.31). Other works by Giuseppe Maria Crespi have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 333,750.00 (€ 539,669.36) in July 2000 for the work The Madonna and Child.
