Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apollo And Marsyas by Giuseppe Cammarano was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,521.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giuseppe Cammarano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Family Portrait, Believed To Be The Borbone-Spagna Family: Maria Isabella (1789-1884) With Her Husband Francis I Of The Two Sicilies (1777-1830), With Their Children, A Landscape Beyond, which sold at auction in May 2018 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,387.32).
