Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work The Villa Chigi in Castel Fusano, Rome by Giulio Aristide Sartorio. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,322.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giulio Aristide Sartorio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Famiglia (Mattino A Fregene) in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 108,750.00.
