Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Man by Girolamo Forabosco for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,224.62). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Girolamo Forabosco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Apollo in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,006.58).

Im Januar 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man von Girolamo Forabosco für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.224,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Girolamo Forabosco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Apollo im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 44.006,58).
