Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ritratto Di Luigia Carati, Moglie Dell'Artista by Giovanni Sottocornola was sold in the 19th Century Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in Milan in June 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 34,350.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Sottocornola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gioie Materne, which sold at auction in December 2007 for EUR 114,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ritratto Di Luigia Carati, Moglie Dell'Artista von Giovanni Sottocornola wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion 19th Century Paintings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in Mailand versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 34.350,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Sottocornola mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gioie Materne beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für EUR 114.250,00 versteigert wurde.
