In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Decorated Barges And Fireworks By The Punta Della Dogana In Venice by Giovanni Grubacs. The »bidding war« ended at USD 60,000.00 (€ 54,088.16), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Grubacs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venice, A View Of The Bacino Di San Marco And The Dogana At Sunset, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 150,546.60).

Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Decorated Barges And Fireworks By The Punta Della Dogana In Venice von Giovanni Grubacs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 54.088,16) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Grubacs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venice, A View Of The Bacino Di San Marco And The Dogana At Sunset beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 150.546,60) versteigert wurde.
