In the Old Master & British Drawings Sale auction, the work A Man Playing A Pipe In A Landscape changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,941.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Other works by Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2005 by the work A classical river landscape with figures fishing at GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,761.75).
