Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider, which included the work The Madonna And Child With Saint Jerome And Saint Augustine by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,974.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flight of Aeneas and his Family from the Sack of Troy in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 442,050.00 (€ 626,105.91).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flight of Aeneas and his Family from the Sack of Troy im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 442.050,00 (€ 626.105,91).
