This artwork by Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2005. In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Andrea del auction, the work Latona Turning Lycian Peasants Into Frogs sold for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,092.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A classical river landscape with figures fishing, which sold at auction in April 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,761.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Andrea del wurde die Arbeit Latona Turning Lycian Peasants Into Frogs für GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.092,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00.
