The work Christ Carrying The Cross by Giovanni Bellini was worth GBP 795,000.00 (€ 939,596.95) to a buyer in December 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Evening Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Bellini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Madonna and Child in a landscape in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,513,250.00 (€ 4,224,287.28).
