Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of two figures seen from below by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,332.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna Of The Rosary With Angels in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 17,349,000.00 (€ 15,639,592.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of two figures seen from below von Giovanni Battista Tiepolo wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.332,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Tiepolo erzielen.
