Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Profanateur, 1995 by Gilles Barbier was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 765.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilles Barbier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orgue A Pet, L'Effort, 1996 in January 2008 with an auction result of EUR 61,960.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Profanateur, 1995 von Gilles Barbier im Oktober 2008 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 765,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilles Barbier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orgue A Pet, L'Effort, 1996 im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 61.960,00.
