Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Sylphide Ou L'Étoile Carnivore by Gilbert Lély was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in June 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10.00 – 20.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Lély achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in April 2004 with an auction result of EUR 12,925.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Sylphide Ou L'Étoile Carnivore von Gilbert Lély im Juni 2018 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10,00 – 20,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Lély erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unknown im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.925,00.
