In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Study for Garden Sculpture by Gilbert Ledward. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 258.50 (€ 422.58), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Ledward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study for the Guards Division Memorial, which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 892.00 (€ 979.36).

Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for Garden Sculpture von Gilbert Ledward zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 258,50 (€ 422,58) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Ledward mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study for the Guards Division Memorial beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 892,00 (€ 979,36) versteigert wurde.
