The work Messageries Maritimes. Istanbul by Gilbert Galland was worth GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,199.48) to a buyer in February this year. This price was achieved in the auction Vintage Posters Online at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 700.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Galland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vue d'Istanbul in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 39,400.00.

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Vintage Posters Online bei Bonhams erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Galland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vue d'Istanbul im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 39.400,00.
