Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction, which included the work Mt. Shasta by Gideon Jacques Denny. The price achieved of USD 5,075.00 (€ 4,357.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gideon Jacques Denny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An American three masted clipper ship in San Francisco Bay, which sold at auction in January 2007 for USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,925.07).
