In November 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A View From The Marketplace With The Nieuwekerk In Delft by Gerrit Toorenburgh. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,320.00 65% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Toorenburgh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Winter View Of Leiden With Figures Skating On The Oude Rijn, The Lage Rijndijk With De Ooievaar Mill To The Right, The Spanjaardsbrug In The Foreground, The Zijlpoort And The Marekerk In The Distance in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 17,050.00.

Im November 2005 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View From The Marketplace With The Nieuwekerk In Delft von Gerrit Toorenburgh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.320,00 und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Toorenburgh erzielen.
