A top price for Gerrit de Wet - as previously expected
In May 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work The Raising of Lazarus by Gerrit de Wet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Raising of Lazarus is the most expensive artwork by Gerrit de Wet that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Raising of Lazarus von Gerrit de Wet zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Raising of Lazarus das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gerrit de Wet, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
