The work A blossoming orchard by Gerbrand Frederik van Schagen was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2001. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 4,935.00 (€ 2,159.46), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gerbrand Frederik van Schagen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Het Gooi: a view from the garden sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of EUR 2,400.00.

Die Arbeit A blossoming orchard von Gerbrand Frederik van Schagen wurde im Januar 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 4.935,00 (€ 2.159,46) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gerbrand Frederik van Schagen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Het Gooi: a view from the garden im September 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 2.400,00.
