The work A Turkey Hen by Gerardus van Veen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2013. It achieved a price of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,141.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gerardus van Veen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Dead Goldfinch sold at auction in December 2014 with the realized price of EUR 7,750.00.

Die Arbeit A Turkey Hen von Gerardus van Veen kam im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.141,71) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gerardus van Veen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Dead Goldfinch im Dezember 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 7.750,00.
