Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work An Old Testament Scene, Possibly Eliezer Offering Jewels To Rebecca by Gerard van Kuijl. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,989.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard van Kuijl achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Musical Party in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 442,000.00 (€ 408,050.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Old Testament Scene, Possibly Eliezer Offering Jewels To Rebecca von Gerard van Kuijl zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.989,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard van Kuijl erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Musical Party im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 442.000,00 (€ 408.050,22).
