In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work The artist's studio, with the master holding a drawing by a table, a pupil portraying a musician, and other pupils in the background by Gérard Thomas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,565.95), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gérard Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Cabinet De L'Alchimiste in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 42,671.00.

Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The artist's studio, with the master holding a drawing by a table, a pupil portraying a musician, and other pupils in the background von Gérard Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.565,95) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gérard Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Cabinet De L'Alchimiste im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 42.671,00.
