Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Composition in orange and yellow by Gerard Schäperkötter for EUR 625.00. This price was achieved in the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gerard Schäperkötter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Zoneiland in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 2,629.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Composition in orange and yellow von Gerard Schäperkötter für EUR 625,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Schäperkötter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Zoneiland im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.629,00.
