Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Standing Figures by Gerald Wilde was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,074.34). Other works by Gerald Wilde have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2006 by the work Composition 1948 at GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,207.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Standing Figures von Gerald Wilde im Juni 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.074,34) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Gerald Wilde wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2006 die Arbeit Composition 1948 mit GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.207,67).
