Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Gerald Jackson was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 609.01). Admittedly, works by Gerald Jackson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl Holding Moon in July 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,436.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gerald Jackson im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 609,01) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerald Jackson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl Holding Moon im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.436,05).
