Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Metamorfose by Ger Langeweg. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of NLG 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of NLG 3,276.56 (€ 1,393.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ger Langeweg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vrouwen in grazige weiden, which sold at auction in March 2000 for NLG 12,872.20 (€ 5,476.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Metamorfose von Ger Langeweg zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von NLG 3.276,56 (€ 1.393,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ger Langeweg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vrouwen in grazige weiden beobachtet, die im März 2000 für NLG 12.872,20 (€ 5.476,13) versteigert wurde.
