Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greek Woman With A Basket In A Dream Landscape by Georgios Gounaropoulos was sold in the The Greek Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2008. The price achieved of GBP 17,300.00 (€ 22,055.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgios Gounaropoulos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prometheus, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,103.49).

Die Arbeit Greek Woman With A Basket In A Dream Landscape von Georgios Gounaropoulos wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion The Greek Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.300,00 (€ 22.055,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Georgios Gounaropoulos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Prometheus beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.103,49) versteigert wurde.
