In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a blue silk dress with a crimson bodice and shawl by Georg Desmarées. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,392.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georg Desmarées have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a red velvet mantle, wearing a wig in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,809.50).

Im April 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a blue silk dress with a crimson bodice and shawl von Georg Desmarées zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.392,39) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georg Desmarées auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a red velvet mantle, wearing a wig im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.809,50).
