In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art, which included the work Othello; The Emir by Georges Charles Coudray. The »bidding war« ended at USD 66,000.00 (€ 48,316.25), 32% above the upper estimate. With this result, Othello; The Emir is even the most expensive work of art by Georges Charles Coudray that we have observed at auctions so far.
