Sold at the upper estimate price
The work The Mother'S Lesson by George Washington Brownlow was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in March 2014. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,420.70), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Washington Brownlow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work All But Lost in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,577.71).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit The Mother'S Lesson von George Washington Brownlow wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.420,70) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Washington Brownlow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit All But Lost im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.577,71).
