In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Sheep Grazing On A Hillside With A Village In The Distance by George Walton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,762.95), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Walton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,288.85).

Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep Grazing On A Hillside With A Village In The Distance von George Walton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.762,95) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Walton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.288,85) versteigert wurde.
