Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An angler in a river landscape by George Vicat Cole was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 325.00 (€ 403.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Vicat Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Windsor Castle, from a backwater in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 29,875.00 (€ 46,782.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Vicat Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Windsor Castle, from a backwater im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.875,00 (€ 46.782,71).
