Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A bend in the river by George Vicat Cole. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,059.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Vicat Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Windsor Castle, from a backwater in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 29,875.00 (€ 46,782.71).

Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A bend in the river von George Vicat Cole zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.059,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Vicat Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Windsor Castle, from a backwater im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.875,00 (€ 46.782,71).
