A top price for George Spangenberg - as previously expected
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Summertime (Hanging the Laundry) by George Spangenberg. The price achieved of USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,778.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Summertime (Hanging the Laundry) is the most expensive artwork by George Spangenberg that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summertime (Hanging the Laundry) von George Spangenberg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.096,00 (€ 3.778,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Summertime (Hanging the Laundry) das teuerste Kunstwerk von George Spangenberg, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
