Sold at the lower estimate price
In May 2010 Phillips in New York held the auction AFRICA Theme Sale, which included the work Nile Tug of War, September by George Rodger. The result of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,212.71) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by George Rodger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Champion of a Korongo Nuba Wrestling Match is Carried Shoulder High, Kordofan, Southern Sudan in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,074.14).

Im Mai 2010 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion AFRICA Theme Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nile Tug of War, September von George Rodger zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.212,71) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Rodger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Champion of a Korongo Nuba Wrestling Match is Carried Shoulder High, Kordofan, Southern Sudan im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.074,14).
