In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California auction, the work Lumina IV, 1970 sold for USD 50,775.00 (€ 51,901.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Rickey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work One Fixed Four Jointed Lines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 519,000.00 (€ 465,512.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Rickey erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California wurde die Arbeit Lumina IV, 1970 für USD 50.775,00 (€ 51.901,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Rickey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit One Fixed Four Jointed Lines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 519.000,00 (€ 465.512,60).
