Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shackleton's Endurance entering the Weddell Sea, 1914 by George R. Cummings was sold in the Maritime Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 717.00 (€ 1,075.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George R. Cummings - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shackleton'S Endurance Arriving At Grytviken, South Georgia, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,406.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shackleton's Endurance entering the Weddell Sea, 1914 von George R. Cummings wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion Maritime Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 717,00 (€ 1.075,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George R.
