Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Landscape With Pumpkin by George Lafayette Clough. The price achieved of USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,954.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Lafayette Clough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prospect Park, Brooklyn, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,695.40).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape With Pumpkin von George Lafayette Clough zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.954,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Lafayette Clough mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Prospect Park, Brooklyn beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.695,40) versteigert wurde.
