Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Seated Figure Holding a Sitar) by George Keyt. The price achieved of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,674.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Keyt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Triptych 1929 in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 183,249.87).
