Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work French Tuna Boats I and II (a pair) by George Kennedy Brandriff was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 637.50 (€ 521.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Kennedy Brandriff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New Church in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 12,575.00 (€ 10,796.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit French Tuna Boats I and II (a pair) von George Kennedy Brandriff im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 637,50 (€ 521,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Kennedy Brandriff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New Church im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.575,00 (€ 10.796,77).
