Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Engagement Ring by George Henry was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,812.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playmates in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 401,300.00 (€ 510,471.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Engagement Ring von George Henry kam im April 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 15.812,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Henry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playmates im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 401.300,00 (€ 510.471,14).
