Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Etude Japonaises by George Henry was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2017. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,804.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playmates in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 401,300.00 (€ 510,471.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Etude Japonaises von George Henry wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.804,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Henry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playmates im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 401.300,00 (€ 510.471,14).
