Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms, which included the work In The Bluebell Wood by George Henry. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 144,000.00 (€ 210,834.55), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Henry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playmates, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 401,300.00 (€ 510,471.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Bluebell Wood von George Henry zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 144.000,00 (€ 210.834,55) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Henry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Playmates beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 401.300,00 (€ 510.471,14) versteigert wurde.
