Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Henry Andrews could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work History of Steam Navigation: Great Britain, Great Eastern, Great Western, Fairy, Marlborough And Other Ships changed hands for GBP 60.00 (€ 87.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry Andrews achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An emigrant ship preparing to depart, her decks crowded with passengers and with onlookers to see her off in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.10).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An emigrant ship preparing to depart, her decks crowded with passengers and with onlookers to see her off im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.929,10).
