Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The blacksmith by George Hendrik Breitner was sold in the The Hofland Collection auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 32,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hendrik Breitner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gezicht op Keizersgracht hoek Reguliersgracht: an elegant lady strolling along a canal in Amsterdam in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 760,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The blacksmith von George Hendrik Breitner wurde im Oktober 2014 in der Auktion The Hofland Collection bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 32.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Hendrik Breitner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gezicht op Keizersgracht hoek Reguliersgracht: an elegant lady strolling along a canal in Amsterdam im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 760.250,00.
