Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Tabakspakhuizen: A Horse Drawn Cart In Front Of The Tabacco Storehouses On The Prinseneiland, Amsterdam by George Hendrik Breitner. The price achieved of EUR 67,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hendrik Breitner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gezicht op Keizersgracht hoek Reguliersgracht: an elegant lady strolling along a canal in Amsterdam in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 760,250.00.

Im November 2015 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tabakspakhuizen: A Horse Drawn Cart In Front Of The Tabacco Storehouses On The Prinseneiland, Amsterdam von George Hendrik Breitner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 67.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Hendrik Breitner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gezicht op Keizersgracht hoek Reguliersgracht: an elegant lady strolling along a canal in Amsterdam im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 760.250,00.
