Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Carline could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints auction, the work London from Parliament Hill changed hands for GBP 216.00 (€ 317.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by George Carline have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hilda playing the harp in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,716.19).
