The price achieved of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 6,746.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Derville Rowlandson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British The Liverpool Grand National At Aintree, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,616.56).
