Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mount Hurd, High Sierras, Calif., Inyo Co. by George Demont Otis was sold in the California and Western Art Online auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,802.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Demont Otis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Sleepy Hollow in August this year with an auction result of USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,990.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mount Hurd, High Sierras, Calif., Inyo Co. von George Demont Otis wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion California and Western Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.802,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
